Wanted to eat in excess tonight, and some of that has happened-- I had an extra half cup of pumpkin seeds and an extra muffin after dinner.  With calorie dense foods, that's a ton.  But I did this- I drew the line there, addressed factors (fatigue, my menstrual cycle, whether the muffins might be a trigger food), and then: made my lunch, set up the tea pot and travel mug for tomorrow, made my breakfast yogurt for tomorrow, and made another bottle of water.  Lastly, I put the remaining muffins in the freezer.  I hate waste, but I also can't chow in excess if they're rock hard, and it has to be a deliberate choice to get one out.  I don't own a microwave.

Extinction bursts are hard for me, and it's usually a sign I've been letting carb creep happen.  This time I'm not sure it's that, but more the temptation to creep, combined with cycle and really good muffins (too good = I want too many).  But, dude, fighting against your primitive brain‽  Hard!

Now, I plan to take in my usual Tuesday show while on the treadmill.  It only "undoes" excess in the same way that "catching up on sleep" works, which is sort of but not really the way you want it to work.  But, it will give me a sense of equilibrium.

I had never heard the term "extinction burst" before. It's fascinating!
Given everything that's going on, it's totally understandable that you'd trigger though. I hope today is easier.
