As a result of this post, [livejournal.com profile] emmala and I got to emailing and hashed out a few ideas for a Stitch-N-Bitch group.

Right now, we're thinking that Sunday afternoons & rotating hosts' houses seem the best, but it's certainly open for negotiation by those who'd like to join. If there are enough people that want to give it a go, I can host the first one on the 26th.

Flames and troll posts will be deleted. Don't make trouble. Knitters have stabbity needles.

at one point I had a dc knitting community on lj, but I think it died a quiet death.

anyway, I'd love it.

Damn, you voted before I even had a chance to! :D That's at least 3 of us, counting Emmala, too.

I have nothing against the DC SnB Yahoo group, when it comes down to it-- but they meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, and that doesn't work so well for me. Weekends will be much better, and I can contribute whatever I have on Netflix if we run out of things to bitch about while stitching.

heh, I move fast when it comes to knitting! ;)

I may know a couple other knitters in search of a posse...

I'm NW located, and not precisely near a metro (near Cathedral), but I figure if we've got a group, I can always swing by and grab y'all from a stop.

Hey - this is Nicole - I met you at one of the first game nights (where everyone won an apples to apples card but me. I'd like to be in a SnB group - I was in one when I lived up in State College PA. However, I have some time constraints until Jan (I'm finishing school while working full time). But I'll see if I can come - or at least keep me on the list and I can come in January.

Absolutely! Weeknight issues/location are the main reason I don't come to game night any more.

I meant to respond in the original post to let me know if you ever actually got the group started! I just got some new yarn too :)

I'd be interested--but I'm in Bethesda or Rockville. I'd be willing to come into the city, of course, but I don't know if working me into the rotation of houses would work for people.

Understood! A fair number of my coworkers are up your way and RedLine in. I'm willing to host a fair number of these to get it off the ground, so I think that's fine.

Hi, I found my way here from your post on the DC community. I only come back to DC during the summers but would like to try a stitch n bitch group like the one that taught me to knit. If this gets off the ground, I would love to attend if you would have me.

I don't see any reason why that's a problem. I'm thinking I'll make a small LJ community for this, and we can use to post dates & times, but also sales, ideas, etc. You can participate absentee and here!

I'm also out of the city (in Vienna) so I'm not sure that you'd want to come to my house!

Sundays aren't a great day for me, unless you don't mind me popping in late - I work until 8pm in old town Alexandria and I'm not sure when hostesses will be booting people out of the door. Saturday afternoons would be perfect for me. Perhaps alternating weekend days could be an option?

I imagine Sundays might be our 'day' for a while, but we can work some other days in there, too.

If I lived, even within 3 hours, I would totally bring my cross stitching and go. :(

Hey, I'm Gwen and I saw your post on the DC LJ community. I'd be interested in Sundays, but I work sometimes, so I wouldn't be able to come to every one (or I'd pop in late, depending on what time things started). Would you plan on having it every Sunday? I'm not to far from the Cathedral (Glover Park), and not spectacularly metro accessible (though there are several bus options), but I'd be up for having it at my house every once in a while.

I'm not too far from the Cathedral either! Rock!

I don't know that we're going to get anything organized for this Sunday, but you and I can always figure something out for another time-- Do you watch TopChef?

I'm up near that A.C. Moore by the White Flint Metro, and I'd love to get involved in a SnB (though with my friends' upcoming fall birthdays, I can't promise to attend absolutely every one :)).

I saw your post on the DC community and definitely want in. Are you on Ravelry? Could we do a group there, too?

I think if we get it going that we should have "field trips" to the Michaels and AC Moore. :D

I'm under the same name on Ravelry, but I don't use it much, other than to track projects.
