 Well.

Tuesday was great!
Wednesday was great!
Thursday, also great— I designated to stay in camp so I’d have energy to go to the Legion and Nova parties.
However, the weather didn’t want to play nice and Thursday evening was when I found out that rain was incoming.
Friday has been spent in camp with the rain.
Tomorrow, I will leave one day early.

There wasn’t a slate of classes I wanted to attend, and I was removed from waterbearing since the battles I was going to volunteer for were cancelled, but I left town, got away, and saw people I wanted to see!  The douchebag who grabbed my ass (*goosed me) at the Fpur Horseman event in late 2017 acted the jackass for 36 hours but then went 180° and acted very nice the remainder.  I got to see all my household girlfriends, even if our organized gathering was cancelled for rain.

I attended no classes and bought no shit.
I nicked out to get my car today and helped some newbies get from the parking gully wash to the main GW area.  (Bless them, they were dedicated to having this experience in 52°rainy weather.  Ugh.)

I am okay with this year’s experience.

Sometimes I have FOMO when I don’t do things, and sometimes when I push myself into doing them, I’m miserable.  I went to the Legion and Nova parties last night and almost immediately wanted to leave— I got overwhelmed by numbers.   I did not go to the Knowne Worlde Party tonight (location moved due to rain), because I didn’t feel like slogging down in the mud (silt, really) after seeing what it was like when I moved my car.

So, I didn’t.  I *did* do the girls’ makeup for the ones who were volunteering from our camp and that was fun.  I did batter with other in-camp folks for a while.  But, I’m again in my sleeping bag cocoon, with my earplugs, about to read for a bit, and it’s good.

I am am extremely grateful I left town and came and saw the people I wanted to see and that they seemed to enjoy me, too.  The weather changes made me a little agitated and I cannot yet determine if I handled it well.  My tent handled the rain with only minimal leakage in some fairly expected/commonplace locations.  I’ll have to drive home with a wet tent, but I hope the parents will let me lay it out in their yard for drying out and resealing.

I hope next year there will be some more classes I’m interested in taking.  I won’t even pretend to guess what the weather might do.  ðŸ¤ª
